Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late James Alver Bright, Sr and Sallie Bishop Bright
Southerland. M r. Bright was a US Air Force Veteran of WWII, retired from Clinton M ills, a member of
Laurens Second Baptist Church, a mason and Past M aster of Rossie Walker Lodge #354 AFM , Past
District Deputy Grand M aster of District 13, Grand Association Patron Order of Amaranth of the State of
South Carolina, and the Watchman of Shepherd of the White Shrine of Jerusalem.
Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Hughes Bright of the home; a daughter, Cindy Bright of Irmo, a sister,
Margaret Hendrix of Landrum.
Services will be at 2 pm Saturday in Laurens Second Baptist Church with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
The family is at the residence.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 pm Friday [tonight] at Kennedy Mortuary, Laurens.
