GLADYS COBB
Services for Gladys M. Cobb, 65, of North Eighth Street, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Denton Funeral Home. The Rev. Lee Moody of Hillcrest Church of God will officiate.
Burial will be at the Carlsbad Cemetery. Mrs. Cobb died Monday (Jan. 31, 1994) at Guadalupe Medical Center.
Mrs. Cobb was born on April 10, 1928, in King County, Texas, to Willie L. and Dovie Mobley. She grew up in Montague, Texas, and she moved to Carlsbad in February 1945. She married J.D. Cobb on March 14, 1946, in Carlsbad. They owned and operated Dairy Queen North and Jay's Drive Inn before selling the businesses in 1979. She was a member of Hillcrest Church of God.
Survivors include her husbad, J.D. Cobb, of Carlsbad; three daughters, Delores Bryant, of Texas, and Carolyn West and Twilla Lassiter, both of Carlsbad; one sister, Billie Joyce Clark, of Pensacola, Fla.; five brothers, Jay Mobley and Doyle Mobley, both of Carlsbad, Johnny Moble, of Ruidoso, Glen Mobley, of Tampa, Fla., and Charles Mobley, of Las Vegas, Nev.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Houston Jurney, Larry Mobley, Dean Mobley, Jeremy Mobley, Bill Alexander and Bill Gillock.
