Norman was born on June 7, 1922 in Cushing, MN to the late Richard and Astrid (Westin) Thorson. He grew up in the Cushing area and farmed his entire life. Norman raised dairy cows, hogs, and grew crops for many years. He was united in marriage to June Mueller and after her passing was united in marriage to Eleanor Evans Nelson on October 10, 1970 in Randall, MN. Norman and Eleanor spent 40 happy years together making their home in Cushing, MN farming. Norman retired from farming in 1975. After his retirement Norman and Eleanor enjoyed many winters in Arizona together. In 2007 they relocated to Little Falls, MN where they have resided to present day. Norman was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Randall, MN for many years and most recently a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN. Norman is survived by wife of 40 years Eleanor Thorson of Little Falls, MN; step-children, Wayne (Judy) Nelson of Forest Lake, MN, Judy Gilbertson of Eden Prairie, MN, Diane (John) Langseth of New Hope, MN, James (Pam) Nelson of Vallejo, CA, Sharon Larson, and Ron Mueller; close nephews, Martin (Annette) Thorson of Champlin, MN, and Thor (JoAnn) Thorson of Bemidji, MN; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Norman was preceded in death by parents, Richard and Astrid Thorson; wife, June Mueller; brothers and sisters.
