Funeral services for Ida B. Simpson, 89, of Cadiz, were conducted on Saturday, January 1, 2005, at 2 p.m., at Goodwin Funeral Home.

Rev. Derrick Norris officiated at the services. Burial followed in Caldwell Blue Springs Cemetery in Caldwell County.

Mrs. Simpson died on Thursday, December 30, 2004, at 9:25 a.m., at Gateway Medical Center in Clarksville, Tenn., of natural causes.

Mrs. Simpson was born on April 25, 1915, in Trigg County. She was the daughter of the late Monroe and Carrie Boren.

Mrs. Simpson was a homemaker, and was retired from Elk Brand.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Homer Boren; three sisters, Betty Dale, Ina Sowell, and Ora Randolph; and one grandson in infancy.

Survivors include her husband of 71 years, Homer Simpson; son and daughter-in-law, Glyn and Patsy Simpson of Clarksville; two grandchildren, Mike and wife Sherry Simpson, Debbie and husband Bill Scott, all of Clarksville; two great-grandchildren, Brian Scott, and Thomas Scott; a sister, Evelyn Ezell of Cadiz; and a niece, Lisa Taylor of Cadiz.

Serving as pallbearers were Charles Butts, T.O. Edmonds, Larry Cherry, Mike Simpson, Bill Scott, and Bob Lester.

Music was provided by Kathy Adams, pianist, and Michelle Noel, vocalist, and Liberty Point Baptist Church Choir.
