RINCON - Mr. Edward Murray "Eddie" Ackerman, 65, died Monday, July 5, 2010, at his residence.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Theophles G. and Edith Kessler Ackerman, infant twin sister and brother, Laurie G. Ackerman.
He graduated from Effingham County High School and attended Brewton-Parker College.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Rincon.
He served in the U.S. Army.
He worked in construction, having been employed at Romine, M.C. Anderson, Inc. and Carolina Crane.
He is survived by a daughter, Alison Ackerman, of Hobart, Australia, sisters Sarah Martin of Rincon, and Mary MacDonald of Williamsburg, VA, several nieces and nephews and several special cousins.
He was an avid sports fan and loved fishing and working with his flowers.
Visitation: 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 9, Goshen Methodist Church.
Funeral services: 11:00 a.m. with burial in Goshen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances to First Baptist Church Building Fund, 201 E. 6th Street, Rincon, GA., 31326.
