GREENWOOD - John Copeland died at his residence last Wednesday night, of
lung trouble, after a lingering illness of several months. Mr. Copeland was
a brave soldier during the late war and a member of Gen. Harrison's
regiment. He was one amongst our best citizens, loved and respected by all.
Funeral services were held at the M. E. church of which he was a consistent
member on Friday at 10:30 a.m. and conducted by Rev. C. W. Tinsly who paid a
beautiful and touching tribute to the memory of the deceased.
