Bro Charles Hess Atkinson was initiated, Passed and raised a MN Master Mason in 1877.
Bro Charles was one of eight children of Bro James Benton Atkinson and Abigale Sholes: In 1910 They built a nice home in Litchfield, Minnesota--which may yet be standing on the corner of Marshall and East 6th Street wherein 5 generations of Atkinsons are said to have lived.
Charles liked being called 'Hess'.
He served a time as Judge of Probate and was active in civic affairs for many years. He married Ida Mitchell and 3 children were born of that marriage.. They were Estelle (married to A. J, Davidson) Herbert (married to Lola Bridges) and James David Atkinson (who married Florence Davis).
Sources-- Atkinson family records...Some family data has been reported in a book, published in 1987, called-'Meeker County Memories'. A Book well worth reading :-))
