Blanche was born Pelagia Josepha Jaszczenski on March 11, 1910 in Pittsburgh, Penn. to Wladyslaw Jaszczenski and Maryanna (Krystyniak) Jaszczenski. She passed away December 12, 2004 in Grass Valley, Calif.

Blanche married William H. Sullivan in 1929, and the two were inseparable until his death in 2002. Blanche and Bill (Harry) met when she worked as a cashier at an F. W. Blanche's claim to fame is that she opened the books for the K-mart Corp. when it was first formed as a subsidiary of Kresge Co. in 1962.

Blanche's great passion was bowling. She had numerous bowling trophies, which she used as doorstops around the house. Blanche was preceded in death by her husband Bill, sister Irene, and sister Clotilda.

Blanche is survived by her daughter Annetta Bernadett of Chico; son Robert Sullivan of East China, Mich.; 13 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
