Dixie Brooks, 87 of Fayetteville, AR passed away Sunday, December 12, 2010 in Springdale, AR. She was born January 5, 1923 in Hazel Valley, Arkansas to Clyde Stokenbury and Pearl (Long) Harris.

She was retired from Franklin Electric after 25 years where she was the first female to be hired as a plant worker. She was a Baptist and loved to square dance. She and her husband Frank square danced from Red River, NM to the English Mountains of TN.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years; Frank Brooks, Jr., two daughters; Linda Ward and husband Lee, Cyndee Church both of Fayetteville, AR, two brothers; Charles Harris of Elkins, AR, Ben Harris of Fayetteville, AR, three grandchildren; Colby Ward of Temple, TX, Trent Ward of Fayetteville, AR, Davina Church of Tulsa, OK, and two great grandchildren; Tristan and Madalyn Ward of Fayetteville.

Funeral services were held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 15th in the Chapel of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home with Reverend Glen Ludwick officiating. Burial was at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville.
