Mary H. Harrison Suddenly Died (Special to the Republican-Register) Victoria, Ill., Oct. 23 - Mary Hellen Harrison was born in Truro township October 13, 1870, and died at her home near Victoria, Ill., a little while before midnight October 17, 1907. Had she lived a few minutes longer she would have been 37 years of age. Mrs. Harrison is well known in the community, having lived here all her life, with the exception of a few years which she spent in Knoxville and Abingdon attending school. At the close of her school days she engaged in teaching and followed the profession for several years. On the 28th of September, 1899, she was united in marriage to Charles C. Harrison, with whom she has lived a happy life ever since. A year later she was converted and joined the Christian church in Knoxville. Just a week ago she attended the funeral of her aunt, and to all appearances was a strong, healthy woman. Little did we think then that the death angel would be knocking at her door so soon. But such is the uncertainty of life. In the last few moments, just before the fight (sic) of the spirit, she said, "O, Charley, it is so dark, turn up the light." Then as a last farewell she planted a kiss upon her husband's cheek and in a moment was gone, to live in that "city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God." She leaves beside her husband, her father and mother, two brothers and one sister and a host of relatives and friends. May the dear Lord comfort and sustain this husband in his loneliness and sorrow."
