She was born Oct. 26, 1953, and was a lifelong resident of Lorain.
She graduated from Admiral King High School and received her associate's degree from Lorain Business College.
Mrs. Burnette worked at Republic Engineering Products, formerly U.S. Steel, for 25 years.
She was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church, Lorain, where she was director of the Baptist Training Union and taught in Vacation Bible School. She was a member of Voices of Praise, CW Kendrick's Jubilee and Women's Choir. She enjoyed bowling, basketball, travel and reading the Bible.
Survivors include her sons Willie Burnette of San Diego, Calif., and Lance Burnette of Lorain; mother, Mary Burnette of Lorain; brother, the Rev. Wilbur Burnette Jr. of Lorain; sister, Mattie White-Burnette of Lorain; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her father, Wilbur L. Burnette Sr.; brother, Larry Burnette; and her grandparents.
Friends may call Saturday from 11 a.m. until time of service at noon at Mount Zion Baptist Church, 1576 E. 30th St. The Rev. Melvin Woodard III, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Lorain.
