He was born Oct. 3, 1932, in William Port, W.Va., and lived in Lorain since 1955.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Clifford retired from Ford Motor Co., Avon Lake, in 1990 after 20 years as an electrician.
He was past commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 498 and past president of Fulton Homes, both in Lorain. He was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, a Mason, member of the Iron Stallion Motorcycle Club and United Auto Workers Union Local 2000 and life member of American Legion Washington-Smith Post 152 in Keyser, W.Va.
Clifford transported veterans to the Cleveland Veterans Affairs Hospital and enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking and baking.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Loretta (nee Morgan); sons Charles ''Chuck'' Clifford and Christopher Neil Clifford, both of Lorain, and Corey Allen Clifford of Cleveland; daughters Cathy Sue Nicholson of Sheffield Village and Lisa Marie Patterson of Lorain; brother, Julian Clifford of Harvey, Ill.; sister, Freds B. Rolls of Keyser; and 12 grandchildren and nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin and Juanita Clifford; and son, Craig Anthony Clifford.
Friends may call Wednesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., at Brown-Robinson Funeral Home, 2652 Broadway, Lorain. Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. in Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 2160 Reeves Ave., Lorain. The Rev. Nate Colvin, pastor of Greater Mitchell Chapel, African Methodist Episcopal Church, Mansfield, will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
