He graduated from Admiral King High School and attended Lorain County Community College.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines.
Burnette was employed by Koffler Properties, Rhode Island, as a building manager.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Velma F. (nee Gage) Burnette of Lorain; daughters Ursula J., Terra L. and Yolanda Michelle Burnette, all of Lorain; sons Damien L. and Adrian Lavell Burnette, both of Lorain; mother, Mary Alice Burnette of Lorain; brother, the Rev. Wilbur L. Burnette II of Lorain; sisters Mattie A. White and Velma J. Burnette, both of Lorain; and a great-aunt, four aunts, two uncles and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Wilbur L. Burnette, in 1970.
Friends may call Saturday from noon until time of service at 1 p.m. at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 1516 E. 30th St., Lorain. The Rev. Wilbur L. Burnette II and the Rev. Melvin Woodard III of Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
Brown-Robinson Funeral Home, Lorain, is handling arrangements.
