Death of Bride L. A. Mystery
Los Angeles - A bride of three months was found mysteriously dead in her lonely house today, her nude body sprawled across the bed.
Homicide detectives were investigating the possibliity Mrs. Lorraine Wells, 29, had been murdered. They said they found fresh foot prints in the soft earth outside the back door.
Coroner's surgeons refused to issue a report on the death until they made an autopsy. Mrs. Wells doctor said he knew no reason why she might have died a natural death. There was no evidence she had taken poison. There were no marks on the body and no weapon around.
The bride apparently died just before 2 am when her sister, Louise Blagg, returning from an evening out, found her dead on the bed.
Neighbors said they heard a car speed away about 1:30 am.
Her husband, Charles, is a patient at Birmingham veterans' hospital. The couple came here from San Antonio, Texas on their honeymoon.
