Billy F. Jones, 84, formerly of Sedalia, died at 7:40 a.m. Monday, June 14, 2010, at his Lafayette residence.

He was born June 16, 1925, in Mishawaka, he was the son of Virgil P. and Bess E. Douglass Jones.

On April 21, 1949, he married Pauline Tischener Robinson, and she preceded him in death on April 13, 1999.

He graduated from Rossville High School in 1943 and served in the Army during World War II. He was wounded in the Philippines and received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.

Mr. Jones had been a dental lab technician at Lafayette Dental Laboratory for 41 years, retiring in 1987.
He was a member of Rossville United Methodist Church and was a life member of American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans.

Surviving are 3 granddaughters, Jennifer (Larry) Frey of Rossville, Patricia "Patty" Gaskill of Delphi and Lori Belveal of Lake Cicott; 3 great-granddaughters, Katie Frey, Brooke Brooks and Ashley Pollard; and 1 great-great-grandchild, Owen.

He was preceded in death by a son, Jackie L. Robinson.

Friends may call from 3 p.m. until service time at 6 p.m. Friday, June 18, 2010, at Bodine Funeral Home, Rossville, Pastor Alan Downing officiating.

Interment at Geetingsville Cemetery with military burial rites.
