Mr. Lamachia, was a son of the late Philip & Vera Young Lamachia.
A lifelong resident of Medina, he enlisted in the US Army during WW II, earning the rank of tech sergeant for Co. A, 305th Infantry 77th Division. He served in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater, stationed in Guam, Layte and Japan. On returning home he was seasonally employed as a heavy equipment operator in the summer and a fuel truck driver in the winter. Lastly , he was employed as a custodian for Towne School in Medina, retiring in 1984.
He was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Chruch in Medina, a member of the American Legion, sacred Heart Club and Medina Moose. He was head of the drill team for the former Medina Eagles Club.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Louise White Lamachia, whom he married Nov. 8, 1941; 5 sisters, Madeline Crimi, Margaret Lioacono, Irene Navarra, Verna (Vincent) Iorio and Sally (Carlyle) Herman; a brother, Philip (Norma Jean) Lamachia; his mother-in-law, Victory White; a brother-in-law, Donald (Marie) White; and a sister-in-law, Elaine White.
He was the father of Robert B. Lamachia, Jr., who died in infancy; and brother of the late Lois Kozloski, Viola Lamachia and June Lamachia.
Burial was with full military honors.
