He was seriously injured in a painting accident in June 1914. He died after collapsing on the sidewalk a year later. He had nine children: Rhoda Morelock, Oscar, Charles, William, Mary Blanche Thompson, George, Naomi Kuhn, Ruth and Lucy Nace.
