Family Tribute
Iris Grace Tolleson (1913-2010)
A viewing will be held for family and close friends from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday, December 14th, with burial to follow immediately at 2 p.m., at Springfield Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home, 7305 Main St., Springfield, for Iris Grace Tolleson of Springfield, who died December 5 of age-related causes. She was 97.
Iris was born May 7, 1913 in Ardmore, Oklahoma, to Ossie and Texie McInturff Honeycutt of North Carolina and Tennessee respectively. She married Delbert Lawson Tolleson of Glenwood, AR in 1936. He preceded her in death in 1997. Iris was a homemaker and worked in Food Services for the Springfield School District as well as for Montgomery Wards in Sales until she retired. She also enjoyed reading, cooking, gardening, sewing for her family, camping, and participating in activities at Trinity Baptist Church in Springfield.
Survivors include her brother, Kenneth Honeycutt of Mer Rouge, LA; daughter, Evelyn Nestle of Springfield; grandchildren: Mark, Brad, Shaun, Tami and Jared, and great-grandchildren: Kristen, Brandy, Taylor, Brittany, Ashley, Madysen, Mackenzie and Makayla. Iris was also preceded in death by her son Gary in 1977, daughter Lynda in 2005, and grandson Brian in 2009 [sic].
