Oscar George Chantiny, age 74, of Kingston MI., passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at Covenant Health Care. A celebration of life, will take place Saturday, December 4, 2010 at 1PM at the Wesleyan Church in Kingston, MI. with pastor Len Wyatt officiating. The family will receive visitors from 2-8 PM on Friday, December 3, 2010 at the Avram Funeral Home in Mayville Mi. and from 11 AM until time of service Saturday at the Church. Interment will take place at East Dayton Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Wesleyan Church of Kingston MI, or the Marlette Hospice of Marlette MI. Oscar was born October 14, 1936 in Silverwood, Mi. to Frank and Mary (Kuna)Chantiny. He graduated from Kingston High School in 1955. He married Patricia Fowler on October 21, 1961 in Fostoria , MI. He worked at the Guerdens Trailer Factory for 17 years, then worked construction for the remainder of his career. His hobbies were fishing, hunting, and gardening. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. Oscar is survived by his wife: Patricia (Fowler), four daughters: Lisa (Dan) Kapala, of Birch Run, MI. Lana of Mancelona, MI. Lori (Richard) Decker of Saginaw, MI. Heather of Kingston, MI. four grandchildren: Landon and Niki B Camuso, Lance Packman of Mancelona, MI.and Shana Chantiny of Kingston, three brothers: Francis (Phyllis) Chantiny of Bothell, Washington, Charles (Mary) Chantiny of Freeland, MI., Edward (Janice) Chantiny of Crystall Falls, MI. four sisters: Marie Kaufeld of Kasson, MN, Jeanette Robare of Mayville, MI, Lorraine Cramer of Caro, MI, and Florence (Don) Werner of Mayvillle, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Lynne Chantiny, 1 brother: Harm Chantiny of Kingston, one sister Angie Bass of Reese.
