FOLLOWS SISTER WITH WHOM SHE LIVED LONG

MISS CAROLINE CRANDALL SUCCUMBED THIS MORNING TO BREAK DOWN

One of the oldest residents of Elyria passed away at 2:30 Saturday morning in the person of Miss Caroline Crandall, aged seventy-seven years, at her home on West Second street, where she has resided practically all of her lif. Since the death of her sister, Anna Maria Crandall, about thirteen months ago, she has failed rapidly. The two had been inseparable since childhood and for forty years had relied almost solely on each other for companionship. Miss Crandall perceived the end several days since and said that she was glad to go.

Miss Crandall's acute illness had lasted for about three weeks. A cousin, Miss Moffit, came from her home in the West and cared for her. The funeral will occur in the Bible school room of the First Congregational church at 2:30 Monday.

Miss Crandall was school teacher many years ago. In later years she had been custodian of the collection of the Lorain County Historical society. She was a daughter of Norman and Eliza Allen Crandall, well known to the pioneer settlers of the town.

Her cause of death was cancer of the stomach and myocarditis. She was buried at Ridgelawn July 19, 1909.
