He served as a captain of the Milita and was with General Cass a good portion of that trying period.
he was appointed to the office of sheriff when General Cass was governer of the territory. As an honest man , an exemplary member of socirty, and the cathoilic Church, he was respected by the entire community. Captain Cicott died February 11, 1855
