Mary Ellen O'Connor of Kankakee, died Friday (Jan. 30, 1998) at Riverside Medical Center.

Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, Bourbonnais.

She was born Sept. 17 in Chicago, the daughter of Colman and Bridget Delia Connolly Welby.

Deceased are her parents; one brother, Thomas Welby; and one sister, Winifred Grohwin.

She was a graduate of Immaculate Conception Prep., Davenport, Iowa, and Loyola University, Chicago.

Mrs. O'Connor was the owner/operator of Pasta Plus Inc., Bourbonnais. She served as the director of the Restaurant and Catering Service. She was a member of the Illinois Restaurant Association, the National Restaurant Association, the Bradley-Bourbonnais Chamber of Commerce, and was a licensed food handler.

She was a Broker/Realtor for McCracken Realty for 20 years, a 20- year member of the Kankakee Co. Board of Realtors, serving as President in 1986; served the board on many state and local committees; and was a lifetime member of the Bronze Award President's Club.

Mrs. O'Connor was a member of the St. Patrick Parent-Teachers Council, Provena St. Mary's Auxiliary, Eastside Junior Football, where she was chairman of fund-raising, Jaycees Little League, and was past- president of the St. Patrick CCW.

She was also a member of the McNamara High School Parents Club, Huddle Club member, co-chair of the 1st Annual ''Pig Roast'' Fundraiser and Spring Dance chairwoman and had worked on Mad- Caps.
Mrs. O'Connor was a member of the Tuesday Book Review Club, a 35- year member of the Kankakee Country Club, where she had served on the committee for the spring luncheon and was on the committee for the Directors Ball.
