Services for Alfred H. Cox, 59, of Route 1, Collinsville, will be held Thursday (today) at 2 pm at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He died Tuesday following an extended illness at a Sherman Hospital. Rev. Hugh Newsom, minister of the Miller Memorial Baptist Church of Collinsville, will officiate at the services.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Mayo, A.J. Branch, Bill Sullivant, Jimmie Burrows, Charley Williams, Dean West, Don Underwood and Bill Stuckey.
Burial will be at the Mt. Zion Cemetery under the direction of Richards Funeral Home.
Mr. Cox was born on December 22, 1914 in Cooke County, the son of Mr. and Mrs. R.L. Cox. He married Oleta Swindle on February 16, 1935 in Gainesville. He was a farmer, stockman and rancher.
Survivors include his wife; two sisters, Miss Fannie Cox of Whitesboro and mrs. Oland W. Pelton of Abilene; his mother, Mrs. Maud Brewer of Gainesville; and two nephews.
