Athena "Jean" Brown, 92, of Independence, MO, passed away December 10, 2010. Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14, at Trinity Church of Nazarene. Burial in Mt. Washington Cemetery. Friends may call from 12 to 1 p.m. Tuesday, at the church. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Trinity Church of the Nazarene Memorial Fund in memory of Jean Brown. Jean was born Aug. 18, 1918, in Burfordsville, Mo., and had lived in this area since 1944. She was an Executive Secretary for the Nazarene Publishing House for 32 years before retiring and was a member of the Church of the Nazarene for 79 years and a present member of Trinity Church of the Nazarene. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Rev. Odis R. Brown of the home; a son, Rev. Lonnie Ray Brown and his wife Helen of Oklahoma City, OK; a daughter, Aldena Brown of Park City, Utah; three brothers, Benjamin Howard of Cape Girardeau, MO, Bobbie Roberts of Independece, MO, Tom Roberts of Jackson, MO; a sister, Patty Roberts of Allardt, TN; two grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
