Died at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, April 21, 1981, at Dixon Memorial Hospital, Denham Springs. She was 83, a longtime resident of Denham Springs and a native of Opelousas. She was a retired home economics teacher in the Livingston Parish school system.

Visiting at Welsh Funeral Home from 10 a.m. Wednesday until time of services at 2 p.m., the Rev. George Duerson officiating assisted by a nephew, the Rev. Belmont Townsend. Entombment in Greenoaks Memorial Park.

Survived by a daughter, Mrs. A.C. Steinmuller Jr., Baton Rouge; two sisters, Mrs. John Colvin, Alexandria, and Miss Adele Lawler, Denham Springs; three grandchildren, Miss Adele Steinmuller, Denham Springs, Miss Carol Steinmuller and Charles Pearce Steinmuller, both of Baton Rouge; a nephew, Rev. Belmont Townsend, Alexandria.

Preceded in death by her husband, H.L. Pearce.

Pallbearers will be Alfred and Charles Steinmuller, Belmont Townsend, Elroy Smith, Raymond Bennett and George Driggers.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Denham Springs and a 50-year member of Loraine Chapter O.E.S., Opelousas. She was a member of the Baton Rouge chapter of the D.A.R. and the Nationsla Society of Magna Carter Dames.
