Ethel Mae Waller Lewis passed away Monday, December 6, 2010. She was a native of Alma, Alabama and a resident of Mobile for over seventy years. She was the daughter of William and Mary Rivers Waller.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, a devoted husband, George W. Lewis, Sr., daughters, Mary Alice Lewis and Ella Bendolph, son, Edward Lewis, grandson, Demetrius Jamar Lewis, sister, Beatrice Deere, brothers, Fredrick Waller, Dillard Waller and James Jackson, Sr., Robert Waller and Eddie Jackson.
She was the eldest member of the Mobile Chapter of The Alabama New South Coalition. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Prichard.
She is survived by her five sons, Freddie (Cheryl) Davis, Chicago, IL., George Lewis, Jr. and LeNard (Cheryl) Lewis, Sr. both of Mobile, AL, Joseph (Carolyn) Lewis, Daphne, AL and Samuel (Terri) Lewis of San Diego, CA., four daughters, Martha Wilson, Patricia Lewis, Lelia Pearl Scott of Mobile, AL and Annie Crenshaw, Greenville, AL; 34 grandchildren, 30 great - grandchildren; two brothers, William S. Waller, Jr., Pensacola, FL., Spencer (Mattie) Waller, Alma, AL; three sisters, Dollie Smith, Mobile, AL., Mary Berniece (Charles) Newman of Chicago, IL and Delores (Hildry, Sr.) Stallworth, Prichard, Al. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Two devoted friends, Janice Lewis, Mobile, AL., Gwendolyn Lewis, Marietta, GA.
