James is the son of Peter Jack Kobzeff (1888-1977) and Stenya Ivanovna Shubin (1890-1973). He is one of six known children: Anna, Jack, John, James, Nellie, Hazel.

He married Hazel Nicholas Stupin (1917-2005) on 27 Nov 1933 in Los Angeles, CA. They have three children: Lorraine, James and Jack.


OBITUARY: James Peter Kobzeff, 86, of Silverton, died Sept. 3.

Born Oct. 10, 1913, in Los Angeles, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He moved to Silverton from Whittier, Calif., in 1979. He was a skilled metal spinner for the aerospace industry. He was also a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Silverton.

He married Hazel Stupin Nov. 28, 1933.

Survivors include his wife; daughter, Lorriane Lee Samarin of Whittier, Calif.; sons, James R. Kobzeff of Salem and Jack R. Kobzeff of Keizer; sister, Hazel Popoff of Los Angeles; 16 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Services were held Sept. 6 in Cornwell Colonial Chapel. Interment was in Gervais Masonic Cemetery, Gervais.

Arrangements were by Cornwell Colonial Chapel, Woodburn.
