OBITUARY: Aged Resident of Gervais Dies
Gervais, Jan. 23. - Clarence A. Sawyer, 92, a resident here for the past 40 years, died in a Salem hospital last Thursday.
Services were conducted at the Ringo chapel in Woodburn Sunday with Rev. Ernest Tremblay officiating. Ritualistic services were conducted by Fidelity No. 54, AF&M. Interment was in the Masonic cemetery in Gervais.
Clarence Sawyer was born in Lowell, Mass., April 3, 1854 and was married to Mary Black in 1880.
He is survived by the widow, five daughters, Mrs. Florence Oddie and Mrs. Jessie Coomler, Brooks; Mrs. Alice Swaner, Edyville; Mrs. Lucy Rickard, Salem, and Mrs. Helen Wiesner, Silverton; one son, L. R. Sawyer of Silverton; 21 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
