William W. Miller was the son of Ruben Miller and Nancy (Jennings)Kinder/Miller/Taft. He was born in Salt Lick Township, Perry County Ohio. According to his sisters obit
their father Reuben died shortly after her birth, (Aug.1865); and by 1866 the family had moved to Wisconsin, near his mother's brother's place. He married Martha Havens, daughter of Henry and Martha (Ricks) Havens on Oct. 14, 1882. (note William's marriage registration lists his father as "William Miller").
- Flossie and Flora were twins.
- The family story handed down is that he lost his leg playing football (see photo).
