EAST PEORIA, IL - Donald L. Bargmann Sr., 71, of East Peoria, Ill., died Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010, at Proctor Hospital in Peoria, Illinois.
Don was born on June 12, 1939, in Peoria, the son of Lester and Emma Klehm Bargmann. He married Billie Jo Bickel, Aug. 12, 1994, in Orion, Ill.
Don worked as a TV broadcast engineer for WMBD TV, Peoria; Blackhawk College/WQPT TV, Moline; and most recently retired from KLJB TV, Davenport, Iowa, in August 2005. He also owned B & B Tower Service.
Mr. Bargmann was a member of Spring Bay American Legion Post No. 1115, Spring Bay, Ill., Illinois Valley Power Squadron.
Don attended Beulah Presbyterian Church.
He was also a private pilot.
Survivors include his wife, Billie Jo; children, Sue (Rick) Fristoe of Tucson, Ariz., Donald L. Bargmann Jr. of Hillsdale, Ill., and Kelli (Dale) Miller of Coal Valley, Ill.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Dale (Judy) Bargmann of Wild Rose, Wis.; sister, Diane (Russ) Vance of East Peoria, Ill.; niece, Lisa (Stuart) Ogden of Morton, Ill.; and nephew, Dennis (Sharon) Bargmann of East Peoria.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
