Funeral services for Ruby C. Davis, 83, of Jeffersonville, will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 13, at Scott Funeral Home's North Chapel, Jeffersonville, with entombment in Walnut Ridge Mausoleum. Ruby, a native of Corydon, died Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010, at home surrounded by family.
She was the daughter of the late Strouse and Minnie Crecelius. She graduated from Corydon High School and enjoyed her secretarial position at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School from which she retired after 35 years of service in 2002. Ruby was an active member of Springdale United Methodist Church.
Ruby found a smile in everything but had a particular affection for helping children, classic country, quilting, making crocheted rugs and baskets, gardening then canning vegetables and making preserves.
Survivors include her best friend and husband, Paul Davis; sisters, Fern McKim and Alma Harbeson; daughters, Charlotte Davis and Bobbi Thiebout and her husband, Steve; granddaughter, Myra Hammann and her husband, Tony; grandsons, Brian Baumgartle and his wife, Kimberly, David Reese and his wife, Virginia, James Nelson and Trevor Davidson; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; eight sisters; a brother; and a grandson, Brad Baumgartle.
