Lillie Mae McIntire, 71, Manton, died at 12:58 p.m. March 14, 2000, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. McIntire was born Feb. 28, 1929, in Raywick. Her first job was with the American Tobacco Company in Louisville. She worked for more than 20 years at the Cowden Sewing Factory in Springfield and retired from the Loretto Motherhouse after more than 10 years of employment. She was a member of the West Marion Senior Citizens. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Joseph Roy McIntire, on April 15, 1973; father, Felix Napolean Mattingly, on September 10, 1969; mother, Daisy Catherine Lee, on Aug. 13, 1984; and a brother, Robert Lee Mattingly, on Dec. 18, 1950. Survivors include: a daughter, Julita Hutchins of Lebanon; a son, Lee McIntire of Manton; three sisters, Mrs. Grover (Mary Alice) Mattingly of Raywick, Mrs. Jim (Lucy) Cox of Hopkinsville and Mrs. Paul (Shirley Ann) Eldridge of Lawrenceburg; three grandchildren, Melissa, Nicole and Jamie Hutchins, all at home. A funeral Mass was held March 17 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Manton, with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Chris Allegra officiated. Pallbearers were nephews - Gary, Kenny, Ricky, and David Mattingly and Cleve and Josh Eldridge, and Timmy Hutchins. Mattingly Funeral Home, Loretto, was in charge of the arrangements.
