Obituary

The deceased, Hugh Myers, was a man among men. He had lived in Davis a long time and knew everybody and had as many friends as any man in town.

He was born in Tennessee 45 years ago and had lived in the Indian Territory 16 years. He was deputy U.S. Marshall 4 years and used to be under-sheriff at Oklahoma City. He has five brothers, a wife and two children. Mr. Myers had $1000 life insurance.

The whole town mourns his death. He was a moral, temperate man, had a good word for everyone, and a heart that beat for suffering humanity.

He was buried Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clockwith Masonic honors, of which fraternity he was a loyal member. One of the largest funeral processions ever seen in Davis followed his mortal remains to their last resting place.

His virtues were many and his faults were few. We remember only his virtues.
