SP4 Richard L Deimler, 21, son of Mr and Mrs David R Deimler, Hummelstown RD3, was killed March 4 in a skirmish with hostile troops near Bien Hoa, Vietnam.
Deimler, who was inducted into the Army a year ago, had been serving with the 25th Infantry Division in Vietnam since last August. He received basic training at Fort Jackson, SC.
A 1967 graduate of Lower Dauphin High School, he was employed by the Plouse Metal Shop, Hummelstown, before entering the Army.
In addition to his parents, survivors include three sisters, Mrs Robert Crowell, Germany; Mrs Kenneth Espenshade, Grantville; and Miss Sara J Deimler, at home.
Seven brothers, Raymond F, Hummelstown RD3; John D, Middletown; Ray R, Etters; Martin L, Hummelstown RD3; Warren E, Hummelstown RD3; Roy D, at home; and Charles E, Harrisburg RD1, and 17 nieces and nephews.
