Gary was born August 5, 1936, to Bert and Elizabeth Miller Bennett.
He was a kind loving gentle guiding force, generous husband, father, brother and friend. He worked as a mechanic at Camp Williams for 25 years.
Gary Loved to hunt and fish with anybody willing to go.
He had a passion for woodworking and will be remembered for his toys and birdhouses.
He is survived by his wife, LaMae Hampton Bennett; brothers, Max and Melvin Bennett; sisters, Lyn Wanlass, Lois Edwards, Pat Angelbaur, and Shelly Bennett; sons, Boyd Bennett, Garrett (Julie) Bennett and Mitch Wilde; daughters, Kellean (Brent) Halladay, Lori (Mark) Clutter, Jerrilyn Cowper and Jill (John) Crawley; 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Gary was preceded in death by son, Gary Lee Bennett; one grandson and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Monday, December 13, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the Anderson & Sons Mortuary Chapel, 49 E. 100 N., American Fork, UT. Friends may call Sunday from 6-8 p.m. and Monday from 9:45-10:45. Burial in American Fork Cemetery.
