Alvin Allen was born January 13, 1916 in West Branch.
His parent was Ada Barber and George Allen.
He married Marian Etiole Griffith in July 22, 1937 in Manistique, MI
He had: 11 Children, 56 Grandchildren, 103 G Grandchildren, 22 GG Grandchildren. He completed grade 6th. He went to Gould City Grammar School. He left school in 1933. He was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps from May 24, 1934-June 15, 1935
At Camp Mackinac S-53. He left there and went to the Camp Trout Lake F-37 from June 16, 1935- January1, 1936. The Project Superintendent Mr. Snyder at Camp Trout Lake "Said that Alvin Allen was a workman employed as Laborer, a very conscientious and Willing worker of excellent ability. " He received an Honorable discharge January 1, 1936 from Camp Trout Lake. He was a Farmer Feb 1936 -April 1945. He had a 40 acre Farm where he planted, Cultivated and harvested such crops as corn, potatoes and oats. He used and maintained and repaired Farm Machinery. Cared for and bred livestock and poultry. He was in the Army from April 26, 1945 to Dec 7, 1945. He went to Ft Sheridan, Illinois April 26, 1945 - May 14, 1945. He went School at Camp Robinson in Arkansas from May 14, 1945 -Sept 8, 1945. Then he was Also stationed at Camp Swift, Texas where he received an honorable discharge in from the Army in Dec. 7, 1945. He had received a Decorations and Citations and a Victory Medal from WW II.

Grandpa had a hat with 4 stars on it he said he needed another star because he was a five star grandfather. There was five generations in his family. He was proud to have five generation, his face lit up talking about his family. He love all his children and his grandchildren. He said that he was a five star man. And that he was. He had so much love for his family.
