Lloyd L. Jenkins, of Santee and formerly of Charleston and Moncks Corner, died December 9, 2010.

He was born September 19, 1924, in Washington, D.C., the son of Lloyd L. Jenkins and Mildred McIntire Jenkins.

Lloyd attended school in Mt. Rainier, Maryland. After serving in Italy with the United States Army Air Force in WWII, he attended the University of Maryland, graduating in 1951. He was then employed by Government Employees Insurance Company (GEICO) in Washington, D.C. He subsequently became a representative of GEICO. Altogether, he was associated with GEICO for 35 years.

Mr. Jenkins was the previous owner of Stop and Shop Liquors in Moncks Corner and Eutawville until he retired in 1999.

He is survived by his wife: Nell, of Santee, and his only daughter: Patricia Ellen Jenkins of Silver Spring, MD; three step-children: Frankie Fort of Columbia, Dennis Harrold of Charleston, and Melissa Kinlaw (Hugh) of Elgin; five step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.

Interment: Beaufort National Cemetery.
