ASHER, Okla. -- Three people died in a crash in Pottawatomie County, according to police.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol officers said the crash happened at about 6 p.m. Tuesday near where state Highway 59 joins with Highway 177, just north of Asher.

Troopers said two cars were involved, one of which was carrying four people.

Investigators said Chad Mullen, 18, of Wewoka, was heading west toward Highway 177 when he pulled in front of another vehicle. Troopers said Mullen failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection.

Officers said Mullen struck a Nissan Xterra driven by Mark Cicero, 50, of Durant.

The crash caused both vehicles to leave the road. Police said Mullen's car flipped, ejecting all three of his passengers. None were wearing seat belts, troopers said.

Troopers said Leah Hanson, 16, of Asher, was taken to OU Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries.

Police said Joshua McBroom, 21, and Andrew McBroom, 19, were declared dead at the scene.
