Rachel Susan Hunnicutt Knight, 24 years old, of Keller passed away Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, at a Fort Worth hospital. Service: 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home. Fellowship with family and friends will follow the service. Stories about Rachel are encouraged. Rachel was born Aug. 4, 1986, to John Hunnicutt and Sandy Carroll Hunnicutt at Harris Hospital in Fort Worth. She married her prince, Shawn Knight, on Sept. 19, 2009, with what one would describe as both a storybook courtship and wedding. Rachel loved her husband. She also deeply loved her family and his, while sharing that love with everyone she came across. More than anything she loved her beautiful daughter, Alexis Leeann "Lexi," with all her heart and soul. Rachel was an inspiration to so many people who knew her as well as those who had been keeping up with her continuing struggle with leukemia for the past 10 years. Rachel was sent to us on a mission, her illness was only an obstacle. She conquered the illness just long enough to bring an angel to us (Lexi) and continued to win the fight, after going back into remission. Of all the world's gifts that she gave her mother and father from birth nothing could compare to the inspiration and power she has filled in the hearts of everyone with whom she has come in contact. She is truly one of a kind. Though her untimely passing will leave incredible sadness, her legacy will carry on. Be at peace, my precious child. Survivors: Rachel will be deeply missed by her husband, Shawn; her beautiful child, Alexis; her parents, John and Sandy Hunnicutt; brothers, Steven and Christopher; and only sister, Rebecca. She is further survived by her adoring grandparents, Nancy Hall, Janet Hicks and Ernest Carroll Sr.; and a large family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins from both sides of the marriage aisle.
