Actor. Born Frank Johnson in Chicago, Illinois, he began his career as a child actor in silent films and progressed to leading roles. He appeared in his first film at age six and due to his small size and youthful appearance, he played teenagers well into his 20s. A very physical performer, he often did his own stunts and was an accomplished horseman. His more then a 150 film credits include "Roaring Rails" (1924), "The Circus Kid" (1928), "Broadway Bill" (1934), "Born to Fight" (1936), "The Lawless Rider" (1954) and "Operation Petticoat" (1959). For television, he appeared on "Alfred Hitchcock Presents", "Perry Mason", "Bat Masterson", "The Red Skelton Hour", "Batman" and many more.
