Donald W. Lewis left this world on the Wings of the Angels to be with Jesus in Heaven on February 25, 2008.
He was of Baptist faith and was a longtime member of Second Baptist Church. Don was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be missed by his loving family and many friends.
Don was born and raised in Cortez, FL to the late Charles and Pearl Lewis. He attended the University of Florida and played football while he was there. He also played football for the Arkansas Diamonds. Don served in the U.S. Air Force. He worked as a foreman for the Traffic Signal Division for the City of Little Rock for years. Don was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Little Rock.
He is survived by his loving wife, Bernice; son, Randy Lewis and wife Marva; grandchildren, Paige Ingram and husband Chris of Little Rock, AR, Anna Maria Lewis and Caitlin Lewis of Richmond, VA, Amber Ingram and Hunter Ingram of Little Rock, AR; sisters, Nita Codgen of Cocoa Beach, FL, sister Martha Tidwell and husband Don of Merritt Island, FL; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family wishes to thank the nurses and doctors at the Arkansas Heart Hospital for their very special care and special thanks to Dr. William Rollefson, Dr. Scott Beau, Dr. Greg Bienvenu and Dr. Charles Warford for their special care while Don was sick.
Don will be in our hearts forever and will be so deeply missed. Until we meet again...
