A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 9, at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Sanford was born October 24, 1934 in Lincoln County to the late George W. and Grace Prue Murphy Dellinger.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Roger Dale Sanford and a sister, Sarah Lingerfelt.
Mrs. Sanford worked as a garment inspector.
She is survived by her husband, James W. Sanford; one daughter, Mrs. Teresa Brackett and husband Kenny of Lincolnton; two brothers, George Dellinger, Jr. and wife Shirley of Crouse and Johnny Dellinger and wife Brenda of Lincolnton; two sisters, Mrs. Patricia D. Long of Lincolnton and Mrs. Martha Sue Neal of Crouse; three grandchildren, Amanda Yount, Kerrie Brackett, and Melanie Lawson; and three great-grandchildren, Allie Yount, Kayla Lawson and Jacob Lawson.
