John H. Palermo, 75, of Fredonia died Tuesday evening (Dec. 7, 2010) at Hamot Medical Center in Erie, Pa., surrounded by his family following a brief illness.

He was born Feb. 26, 1935 in Rochester, NY, to the late Frank Palermo and Josephine (St.George) Palermo Noto.

A graduate of Dunkirk High School, John received an Associate's Degree from Rochester Business Institute. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1956-1957. John was the ideal family man. He always put family first, especially enjoying time with his grandchildren, playing video games, fishing, golfing or organiging traditional family get-togethers.

Survivors include his loving wife, Gina, and daughters Julie (David) Mueller of Hamburg, Trish (Mike) Wilcox of Cary, Ill., and Melissa (Chuck) Sevola of Randolph, N.J. He is further survived by his eight grandchildren, Jeffrey and Valerie Mueller, Brian, Matthew and Patrick Wilcox and Lea, Kara and CJ Sevola; a brother, George (Claudia) Noto of Niagara Falls; a sister, Leanora (Noto) Zacharias of Fredonia; and many nieces and nephews.
