Mrs. Ruth Tarpley Pruett, age 99, of Buford,
GA passed away on Friday, December 19, 2008. She was predeceased by her husband of 71 years, Mr. Clarence Pruett; parents, Willam Pascal and Elizabeth Crumbley Tarpley; brothers, Robert Tarpley and Richard Tarpley; sisters, Julia Mae Sudderth, Opal Wilson, Lou Alice LaBoon, Mary Gray, and Margaret Brown. She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Stanley and Sybil Pruett and Sherman Clyde Pruett; grandchildren, Cynthia Pruett Richey, Jeffrey Pruett, Linda Pruett Barrett, Kenneth Pruett, Alan Fowler, Elaine Evans, Angela Andrews and Deirdre Moore; sixteen great grandchildren; brothers, Thomas Tarpley and Douglas Tarpley; sisters, Allene Turner, Lois Shell, and Wynell Doss. Mrs. Pruett was born July 24, 1909 and she was a native of Gwinnett County, GA. She was a homemaker. She was the oldest member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Buford, GA where she was a former church pianist. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 21, 2008 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with
Rev. Lamar Porter and Rev. Larry Waddell officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Buford, GA.
