Glen passed away Friday night at the Scott and White Hospital in Temple Texas.

Lawrence Glen Stanley, son of Lawrence Nathan and Alfretta Moore Stanley, was born January 9, 1920 in Gibson, Iowa. After his graduation from Delta High School in 1937, Glen moved to Marshalltown where he managed the ME TOO grocery store. He later moved to Los Angeles, Calif., where he worked for two years as a safety engineer for North American Aviation. Glen enlisted in the Army Air Force, October 24, 1943, in the Cadet Training Corps as a navigator trainee. Some of his training took place at Oklahoma A & M.; eventually he was stationed in Dothan, Alabama. While in Dothan, he married Ruth Utterback September 19, 1945. Following his discharge in March 1946, Glen and Ruth returned to Iowa, where they made their home in Oskaloosa. He was first employed as the district sales manager for AAA Insurance Company and later operated and owned his own insurance company. In 1951, Glen was hired as the sales manager for KBOE Radio in Oskaloosa. Shortly thereafter he became the general manager and part owner. He remained with KBOE for 35 years. Glen was co-owner and board member of KVFD, Fort Dodge Broadcasting in Fort Dodge; KQAQ in Austin, Minn.; and KLIJ, Jordan Broadcasting in Jacksonville, Ill. He retired from broadcasting in 1985. Glen's hobbies included boating, fishing, golfing, reading and traveling. He was a member of the First Christian Church, where he was a deacon, the American Legion Post #34, Jaycee's and the Elks Club. He served as president and on the board of directors for the Oskaloosa Chamber of Commerce and Iowa Radio Network; he served as vice-president and board member for Penn Central Mall Association and Penn Central Mall Management Corp.; he served as secretary and board member for the Iowa Broadcasters Association; and was a past member of the board of directors for the Oskaloosa Kiwanis Club.

Glen's family includes his wife, Ruth of Oskaloosa; a son, Lyle Stanley of Madison, Alabama; a daughter, Lynn Conger of Temple, Texas; granddaughters: Lisa (Robb) Huffman of Atlanta, Georgia and Bobbi Stewart of Temple, Texas; and a great grandson, Edward Stewart.

Besides his parents, Glen was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Stanley and a daughter-in-law, Ann Stanley.
