Nellie E.Y. Altman Phillips Visit Guest Book

Nellie E.Y. Altman Phillips - SAVANNAH - Nellie E.Y. Altman Phillips, 74, of Savannah, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2010 at her residence with her family at her bedside under the care of Hospice Savannah. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Richard "Dick" L. Phillips, Sr. and a granddaughter Gabrielle. She was born and raised in Savannah and was a graduate of Savannah High School. Ms. Nellie was very actively involved in her children's lives and with the Quacco Baptist Church for which she was a member for many years. She was a strong influence on everyone she came in contact with. Ms. Nellie was the epitome of a "Lady" and was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a former member of the Eastern Star, a homemaker, and the wife of a man who spent 23 years in the US Air Force. She is survived by three sons; Richard L. Phillips, Jr. (Carol) of Richmond Hill; William W. Phillips, III; Douglas J. Phillips (Sharon) all of Savannah; two daughters; Debra VanBrackle (Michael) of Guyton; Julie P. Collins (Christopher) of Savannah; one brother, Raymond "Buddy" Altman of Richmond Hill; two sisters; Edith Green of Savannah and Jacqueline "Jackie" Tucker of Hampton, SC; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation: 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Thursday December 9, 2010 at Fairhaven Funeral Home, Garden City. Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m. Friday in the Chapel of Fairhaven Funeral Home, 2794 W.
