North Africa (Operation Torch, 8th November 1942 - 20th February 1943) Torpedoed by U.431 off Bougie (85 miles NE of Algiers), 37 53 AND 05 57'E.
10th November 1942. U. 443 (Korvettenkapitan Wilhelm Domnes), had identified his target as a "Leander" class cruiser and observed three of the four torpedoes hit their target.

Casualties 161. Survivors 63.
