Oscar Edward Wheeler was born the son of David and Roberta (Hyatt) Wheeler on Monday, August 14, 1922 in Rosie, Arkansas.

Oscar attended school until he had to help his family on the family farm. He enlisted in the US Navy during WWII. He was very proud to be a veteran and to serve his country. After the Navy he moved to Montana working construction building power plants. Oscar moved all over for the construction jobs. He moved to Sherwood, Oregon three and one half years ago.

On Thursday, November 18, 2010 Oscar Edward Wheeler died at a local hospital when he was eighty-eight years, four months and four days of age.

Surviving and left to honor his life are: four daughters, Judy Fivecoat of Oakland, California; Janie, her husband Larry Mosley of Glen Rose, Texas; Nancy and her husband Steve Fitch of Sherwood, Oregon; Robin Heflin and Geoff Pafek of Glen Rose, Texas; his son Randall, and his wife Dell Wheeler of Bay City, Texas; fifteen grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and those who have come to know and appreciate him where he has lived and worked. One brother; two sisters; and two great-grandchildren preceded him in death.
His graveside will be Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at 2:30 pm at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon. Chapel Viewing and Visitation hours are Tuesday, noon at the Attrell's Sherwood Chapel, a Golden Rule funeral home.
