— SUNBURY — Frances I. Hoffman, 87, of 935 Masser St., passed away at her residence on Monday, Dec. 6, 2010.
She was born June 30, 1923, in Sunbury, a daughter of the late Ernest and Mary (Weller) Riland. She was married to Isaac Hoffman who preceded her in death on March 19, 1998.
Frances attended the First Reformed United Church of Christ, Sunbury and formerly served as a foster grandmother at the Sunbury YMCA.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Kevin J. and Jamie Hoffman, of Sunbury; two grandchildren, Ginger Shultz and Chelsea Hoffman; three stepgrandchildren, Jennifer Fisher, Janelle Musser and Eric Musser; two stepgreat-grandchildren, Kelsie Fisher and Makenzi Musser; one brother, Charles Riland, of Florida; and one sister, Harriet Sanford, of Florida.
She was preceded in death by one brother, John, and three sisters, Ruth Steeley, Ernestine Boyer and Marian Rothrock.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, Sunbury, followed by the funeral at 11, with the Rev. Thomas Dunkle officiating.
Burial will be in the Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.
