Obituary: MRS RICKEY A. LADMAN BEATTY

Was born Nov. 17, 1888, and died at her home here in College Mound, Nov. 2 2, 1918, being 30 years and 5 days old. For some years she has been more or less afflicted with heart trouble and other complications. These spells of sickness have increased considerably this fall both in frequency and severity. It was one of these spells, combined with a slight touch of the influenza that carried her away. She was married to Jos. L. Beatty, Nov. 1, 1907, to this union six children were born, one of whom has gone on to glory while the husband and five children wait with sad hearts under this heavy hand of affliction that has been laid upon them. She was converted and sanctified in the first meetings held by Bro. Kring at Reform some sixteen or more years ago. She was truly faithful all these years that she has lived to glorify the God Who saved her in girlhood days. She was always ready to bear her part of the burden and do all that she could in the service of God. Our readers will remember how many times in the reports from the matron of the Orphans' Home that her name was there frequently with some offering for the children. Never able to do much h, she was always glad to do all she could. Just before her last sickness the writer saw her selecting some groceries to send across the waters in the "missionary box." She also had furnished a new quilt to go along with her other donations. It could be said of her as of Dorcas of old, that she was full of good deeds. Her nature was of the retiring, quiet sort. She never had much demonstration, but those who knew her best knew that was really and truly a woman of God, "full of faith and the Holy Ghost." The prayers and sympathy of all go out to our dear brother and co laborer in the Gospel field in this hour of affliction. Also for the motherless children. God bless them all and give them great rest and consolation in Him.
